Intervention Program
For Male Abusers
SWAN Intervention Program (SIP) is a structured
educational program which is based on a nationally recognized curriculum (Duluth
Model).
The purpose of this program is to help men who have
battered and teach them an alternative way of dealing with life's
problems.
SWAN Intervention
Program Goals:
1. To assist the abuser to understand their act of
violence.
2. To assist the abuser in taking responsibility for their abusive
behavior.
3. To recognize that they are responsible for their violence.
4. To teach skills for noncontrolling and nonviolent behavior.
5. To
understand the cause of their violence by examining other factors that influence
the choice to be violent.
This 23 week program includes the
initial intake meeting.
Referrals are received from the court
system.
Voluntary self refferals are also accepted.
